Be Creative

It’s strawberry pickin’ season so we wanted to do a berry easy strawberry craft! Strawberries have always been one of my favorite fruits! They’re great in smoothies, on salads, on top of peanut butter and dipped in chocoloate! What better way to embrace this wonderful, sweet fruit than by doing a simple craft using items you already have on hand! Like most of my crafts, I like to offer variety. I have included a FREE printable to color or a FREE printable with the leaves and seeds already filled in! Below are the two versions to put together!

Materials needed:

Craft table ready to use!

Using crayons:

Start by coloring the leaves green and the seeds yellow (or black). You don’t have to worry about staying in the lines because they will be cut out!

Using the paintbrush, spread glue over each seed. Sprinkle the gold glitter on top of the glue. My daugther loves glitter so we wanted to add just a touch of sparkle! (This step is completely optional). I would make sure to place paper in a baking sheet first! I also squirted the glue in these silicone cups for ease of application.

Spread the glitter over each seed, tap off excess and cut the leaves and seeds out. *Note: the glitter made it a little harder to cut out. The sparkle was cute though!

Fold each leaf over the cup first. Add glue to the leaf base and beyond the leaf fold. Glue each leaf on the cup.

Glue each seed onto the cup. Ambrey would hold the seed as I placed a glue dot on the back. This made it easier for her to handle and place on the cup.

The finished strawberry cup turned out really cute! You can also use markers which would make the leaves and seeds darker. (Example below).

Using markers:

You have to be more precise with staying in the lines when using markers due to the darkness of the colors. I’ve also included a template below with the colors already filled in, which would still be fun to put together!

This version would create a more defined strawberry look due to the colors being richer (similar to markers). I think this would be perfect to make and fill with treats for a “Strawberry Shortcake” theme party!

We made chocolate dipped strawberries covered in sprinkles to put in our cups! Ambrey loves decorating with sprinkles!

This craft would be easy for kids of all ages to make! It would be cute to use as a “treat cup” for a party or just a simple craft to complete on a rainy day!
