Be Creative

Candy Canes have always been a favorite Holiday treat! They’re perfect to hand out to friends, family and classmates as a sweet little gift. I made these Ballerina Reindeer Candy Canes for my daughter to handout to her dance class. They were a huge hit and all of the girls were very excited to receive one! They were also extremely easy and cost-effective to make!

Materials needed:

Directions:

Fold the pipe cleaner in half, place under arch of candy cane and twist on top 4 times. Wrap one side around a pencil.

Repeat on other side.

Place a glue dot on the back of the bow and press against the center of the pipe cleaner. Hot glue the pom pom for the nose (a glue dot won’t hold the weight). You could use hot glue for the bow as well but glue dots allow for littles to safely help assemble!

Tutu directions:

Cut a 12 inch piece of tulle. Fold it in half (creating a 6 inch piece) and fold in half again (creating a 3 inch piece).

Fold in half upward to create a 3 inch by 3 inch square. Cut around the square to form a circle. Punch a hole in the middle of the tulle.

Push the candy cane through the center of the tulle, position tulle in the middle of candy cane and fold in half (downward).

Tilt skirt upward, place a glue dot in the middle of tulle, overlap tulle on top of glue dot, press firmly. Place an additional glue dot underneath the skirt on the back of the candy cane for additional adhesion. (You can also use a glue gun, but I think the glue dots are less messy and work just as well)!

The completed Ballerina Reindeer Candy Cane!

I placed all of the reindeer in a simple red pail for ease of transport and for our daughter to handout to all of her dance friends! Follow me along on Instagram and let me know if you make these as well!
