Be Creative

We have always loved celebrating Earth Day! Whether it’s planting outside, recycling crayons or making a fun craft, it’s always an important day to acknowledge! My daughter has really loved completing these mess-free crafts recently so we decided to make an Earth one for Earth Day!

Materials needed:

Directions:

Trace a circle on a piece of paper using the cake circle as a template (optional).

Randomly place dots of paint in the circle. Make sure to group the greens together and the blues together (this will help the Earth look more realistic once blended). The white paint can be placed with both colors. 🙂 Place in the Ziploc bag and tape the edges to a table.

*Tip: While placing the paper in the Ziploc fold it upwards (hotdog style) so the paint doesn’t smear on the edges of the bag.

The fun part! Have your little one press the paint around with their fingers, pom pom, or brush on the outside of the bag.

Immediately remove the paper from the Ziploc bag before it starts to dry and allow to completely dry overnight. You can also use a blow dryer to speed up the drying process.

Once dry, cut out your Earth! You can leave it or add a heart, like we did! ♥

My daughter loved how the Earth turned out I loved how easy and mess-free it was to set up! Check out this post for a free Earth Day coloring page for you littles to do as well! Happy Earth Day!
