Be Creative

Easter week is here and we’ve been doing a lot of fun crafts to celebrate! My daughter really enjoyed this Salt Painting activity! It can be done using items you already have on hand! I’ve included FREE printable templates as an outline, but you could also free-hand anything you like! 🙂

Materials needed:

Free printables:

Start by tracing “Happy Easter” with the glue.

Generously apply the salt only where the glue is.

Trace the egg with the glue.

Generously apply salt to the remaining glue.

Shake the salt off into the tray.

Make sure to keep the paper flat until it dries. I accidentally picked it up too soon before my daughter painted and it started to run.

Repeat with the Egg Printable. You may have to add more salt if the glue is still too wet.

Craft table ready to use! These silicone muffin cups worked great to separate the different colors. Use 5 drops of each color food coloring and mix with water.

Using the paintbrush, simply dip the brush into a color and dab it onto the salt. The color will start to spread into the salt! This was really neat to watch!

Repeat with the other printable!

The possibilities are endless with this activity! You can make any shape, animal or letters out of the glue! This would also be a great activity for kids to make at a birthday party as a take home souvenir! It was a lot of fun to see how creative my daughter got using the different colors. I hope your little one enjoys as well! 🙂
