Be Creative

My oldest daughter loves sensory bins and puzzles so I wanted to put together a fun activity that combined the two! Since it is Spring I thought a flower puzzle would be neat to put together! We also turned this into a learning activity by her counting the flower petals, leaves, etc. and naming the colors! I’ve included the FREE printables below and the step by step instructions to put together this fun puzzle sensory bin for your little one as well!

Materials needed:

Free Printables:

Flower Puzzle Pieces (if you don’t want to use felt)

Assembly:

Trace and cut your flower puzzle pieces on felt. You could use the colored printable instead but the felt pieces hold up better and allow your little one to do the activity multiple times! 🙂

Place your felt pieces in the base of your bin.

Layer your rice and beans on top of the felt pieces.

Stick (the rough) velvro dots to each petal, leaf and stem on the flower base printable. Make sure it’s the rough velcro side that the felt will stick to. I cut one velcro dot in half for the stem.

Have your little one dig through the rice and beans to find the felt pieces and match them to the paper!

The completed flower puzzle! My daughter had a lot of fun finding the pieces and placing them on the paper. She immediately wanted to do it again! Since the pieces are felt it kept them from bending and they were easy to remove from the velcro to play again! Follow me along on Instagram and let me know if you make this puzzle sensory bin for your little one!
