Be Creative

Chalk has been around forever! It’s always a great staple activity to have on hand for kids of all ages. It is also a great affordable activity as well! I recently saw this idea circulating on Facebook and had to give it a try with my three year old daughter!

Material needed:

Start by making a square or rectangle with the scotch tape. Randomly connect straight lines. There really is no right or wrong way to do this. That’s the fun part! 🙂

Color each shape a different color. We would name the colors as we went along. I’m always trying to find ways to make any activity educational! 😉 Once complete, start pulling the tape up from one corner. It should all come up in one big piece. My daughter really enjoyed this part!

The completed rectangle!

My daughter started naming more shapes she wanted to make. We did a star next! She really enjoyed helping to push down the tape as I pulled it along.

The completed star!

Next, we did a heart! We mimicked the same method as we did with the rectangle.

The completed heart!

The last one we decided to do was my daughter’s name. She enjoyed ripping the tape up to see the finished art on this one as well!

These chalk activities were a lot of fun! It was a great way to get outside and enjoy the beautiful Spring weather as well. 🙂
