We love Valentine’s Day, so what better way to celebrate than a fun countdown to the special day! This is a quick and easy puzzle activity your littles can look forward to each day! I have linked the FREE printables below!

Materials needed:
- Crayons (we used JUMBO)
- Hershey kisses (or any treat)
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Cardstock paper
- Burlap heart bags (optional)
- Twine (optional)
- 20 mm wood beads (optional)
- 1 inch clothespins (optional)

Directions:
Print both printables on cardstock paper. Cut out the heart from the coloring pieces printable (bottom) – the one that doesn’t have hearts around the numbers.
Cut out all 14 pieces of the heart.
Place an individual puzzle piece and a piece of candy or treat into a burlap bag.
Place all 14 puzzle pieces and candy into 14 individual bags. You can number the bags or randomly pull one each day.
Place your Heart Puzzle base on a frame or next to your bags. I used a 8″ by 10″ frame – this one is similar.
Hang your bags on a banner. I strung ours in order, but they don’t have to be! Puzzles aren’t usually put together in order anyways! 😉 I also kept the crayons close by. We chose shades of pink and red, but this is also optional!
Each day, have your little one open a bag and they will discover a numbered puzzle piece and a treat!
Flip the numbered puzzle piece over and have them color on the blank side of the piece.
Once colored, flip the piece back over (showing the number) and spread glue on top. Match the corresponding number on the piece with the number on the heart base and glue down.
Each day your child will color a new puzzle piece, match it with the corresponding number, glue down and continue the countdown to Valentine’s Day!
The end result is this cute “Love You to Pieces” keepsake that would be really sweet for your child to give to a Parent or Grandparent as a Valentine’s gift! ♥
